Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 28 June 2026
Our commitment
Burrow Activities is built for every Australian primary classroom. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth).
Built-in supports
- Dyslexia: OpenDyslexic-style font option, increased letter and line spacing, cream background, syllable highlighting.
- ADHD: per-section timer badges, movement breaks, reduced visual distractions mode.
- Autism: predictable summary previews of every activity, consistent layout, plain-language instructions.
- EAL/EAL-D: word banks, sentence frames, visual topic picker.
- Dyscalculia: worked example shown before maths tasks.
- Behaviour / engagement: entry-choice toggle so students choose their starting subject.
- Visual: high-contrast text, large tap targets, scalable text via browser zoom.
- Reading: read-aloud buttons on passages and questions.
Keyboard and screen-reader use
All interactive controls are reachable by keyboard. Form inputs use semantic labels and visible focus rings. Generated worksheets use proper heading order so screen readers can navigate them.
Print accessibility
The print view uses high-contrast black-on-white type, generous spacing, and avoids relying on colour alone to convey meaning.
Known limitations
- AI-generated images are not used; all illustrative photos come from Wikimedia/Openverse with alt text. Where no suitable real photo is found, no image is shown.
- Some interactive animations may be distracting; use the "Reduced distractions" support setting to disable them.
Feedback
If you hit an accessibility barrier, tell us at hello@burrowactivities.com and we'll work to fix it.
