Privacy Policy

About this policy
Burrow Activities ("Burrow", "we", "us") is an Australian education tool that helps teachers create curriculum-aligned activities for primary students. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Teacher account data: email address and a hashed password used to sign in.
- Class information you enter: student first names or initials, year level, learning support notes and assessment scores.
- Activity inputs: the topic, year, curriculum and support settings you enter to generate worksheets.
- Technical data: standard request logs (IP, browser, timestamps) used for security and debugging.
Children's data
Burrow is designed to be operated by adults (teachers and parents). We ask teachers not to enter full student names, contact details, photos, or sensitive personal information. Use first names or initials only.
How we use information
- To generate personalised activities and track student progress for the signed-in teacher.
- To operate, secure and improve the service.
- To respond to support requests.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use student data to train AI models.
AI processing
Activity content is generated using third-party large language models. The topic and year level you submit are sent to these providers to produce the worksheet. Do not include identifying student information in the topic field.
Storage and security
Data is stored in managed cloud infrastructure with row-level access controls. Each teacher can only access their own students and sessions.
Your rights
Under the APPs you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
